Regulators and Unloaders were designed to set a certain pressure flow throughout heavy duty systems. Regulators are easily constructed  devices that consist of a piston or ball held on a seat by the force of a spring. This will move and release fluid which will maintain the system pressure. There are no frequently closing valves and there is a simplicity of design for lower maintenance. Unloaders however, control pressure but decrease pump head pressure to very low when the valves are closed.
